Adriana Melnyk-Brandt is a scholar specializing in effective assessment of and instruction for second language learners, as well as curriculum and assessment design for teachers at all levels K-16. She brings to this role experience as a K-12 public school teacher, state-level curriculum specialist, and national consultant and evaluator for K-16 educational projects and initiatives. She holds a Ph.D. in literacy, culture, and language education from Indiana University, with additional post-graduate coursework in Spanish, assessment and evaluation, and curriculum theory.
Outside of the UT classroom, Adriana enjoys distance running, long hikes in the mountains with her rowdy cattle dog, cheering on Indiana’s professional sports teams, and acquiring new craft skills. Her current pursuit is learning how to build a stained glass window for her mountain home.
