Angie Child

Dr. Angie Child is a Professor of Elementary Education with a specialization in Literacy and Literacy Acquisition. She teaches literacy courses within the Elementary Education Program at Utah Tech University and brings nearly 30 years of experience in teaching, coaching, mentoring, consulting, and researching literacy education.

Dr. Child’s work is deeply rooted in the Science of Reading, a focus that informs all aspects of her teaching and scholarship. As a recognized leader in this field, she serves as the designated Science of Reading Faculty Representative for the State of Utah on behalf of Utah Tech.

A passionate educator, Dr. Child is dedicated to supporting both pre-service and in-service teachers. Her enthusiasm for literacy and commitment to evidence-based instructional practices are evident in her teaching, mentorship, and ongoing contributions to the field.
